About The Webmaster - Paul Rudkin

Paul Rudkin returned 5 years ago to Winslow, Buckinghamshire, England after spending the previous three years living and working near Detroit, Michigan, USA.  Paul originates from Buckinghamshire, and studied Electrical and Electronic Engineering at De Montfort University.

Paul’s interest in Radio began when he was 14 when he studied to obtain his Amateur Radio license.   This eventually lead him into a career in electronics.  He currently works  as a Project Manager for Comau-Pico Powertrain Systems, a leader in the supply of powertrain assembly and test systems    Over the years, his work has taken him all over the globe and he has spent long periods of time in China working in Wuxi, Jiangsu province where he met his wife.  Paul has an intimate knowledge of Chinese culture and customs and has some interesting stories to tell of local culinary delights!

Outside of the hi-tech realm Paul enjoys fine wines and dining with his close friends.  When in Detroit he could often be found at Symphony Hall absorbing a concert from the Detroit Symphony Orchestra.   But when he really kicks back to relax, he can found at Cowley's in downtown Farmington enjoying an cold beer, and singing along to one of his favourite local bands, Blackthorn.

Paul's interest in communicating ‘popular science’ over the World Wide Web is intrinsically linked to his attitude in promoting science in a positive, non-threatening way that is accessible to everyone, including those without a formal science education.
